“We are responsible for our learning and we take things seriously” (Grade 8 Student)

Our middle years go from grade 6 to grade 10, which aligns with the International Baccalaureate framework. Within our Middle Years, we include students who follow the Middle School coursework with the Italian Middle School exam in Grade 8 and the first two years of High School, respectively, Grade 9 and Grade 10.

Middle School students are asked to inquire into the following subject areas in great depth:

English, Italian, Mathematics, World History, Geography, IT & Design, Individuals & Societies, Physical Education, Music, Visual Arts, English as a New Language (for specific needs), and Italian as a New Language (for specific needs).

Grade 9 and 10 students start coursework in Latin, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Philosophy and Art History.

Moreover, from Grade 6 upwards, students have three to five periods a week of Elective subjects in which they can choose their learning path. Students are exposed to subjects such as Business, Finance, Music Band, Bilingual Journal Writing, and Model United Nations.

Starting September 2024, our middle school students will have an extended academic offering with Latin taught from G6 to G8 and Philosophy from G8 and above.
